Comanche Peak Freetrappers
Comanche Peak Freetrappers is a group of people who share a common interest of the fur trade era in the early part of America’s development by learning the craft and skills of the pre-1840 time period. We gather for _Rendezvous_ much as the mountain men did in the early 1800’s to sell goods, trade, compete, meet new friends, and visit with old ones.
Our rendezvous are held on the second Sunday weekends of April and October each year. We also hold monthly meetings at our camp near Palestine, Texas. Members gather to share information on guns, clothing, skills and accoutrements of the time period… as well as compete in some friendly competition of the rocky mountain fur trade. We also welcome reenactors who enjoy the time of Pirates, Longhunters, F&I, Rev. War, W-1812 as well as Texas history. Our rendezvous are closed to the general public unless outfitted in pre-1840 clothing, camp and accouterments. We do have a black powder only range, no inlines or modern weapons allowed.
